I believe this is one of the geekiest post ever. Today! it is the first time ever that simultaneous measurements are done using almost all the possible combination of instruments that we have on board. It all started around 16:00 GMT, they deployed first the XCTD (eXpendable Conductivity Temperature Depth), which went down to ~ 1100 [m], followed by the HRP (High Resolution Profiler), then the CTD/LADCP rosette and finally the DMP(Deep Microstructure Profiler).
I have to admit, I am pretty impressed I got to see it happen. Hopefully soon some results will come out.
